Logline:

Gaius Baltar sows unrest and violence in the fleet by promoting belief in the Cylon god. Meanwhile, the four secret Cylons on the Galactica clash over how far they should go to keep their mutual secret.

Episode recap:

Chief administers Callie’s wake with a good portion of who’s who on Galactica looking on. He makes her out like an angel and that all that nicey, nice stuff. (Which is ironic later on.) He goes on about how he couldn’t protect her and how he’ll never forget her. He also asks the Lords of Kobol to protect her.

The president let’s Adama know that it’s a nice ceremony and pretty much lets it known that this is what she wants.

Both Adama and the president give their condolences to the Chief. It’s pretty safe to say that it’s taking Chief everything he has to keep himself together and not reveal his true nature. It’s even causing the two skin jobs to get worried.

Meanwhile, Tigh himself is beginning his true nature and to find the answers, he’s been paying Six a visit in Galactica’s brig. In this visit, Tigh gets “head Ellen” and starts to play mind games with  him.

The three T’s (Tori, Tigh, Tyrol) all meet up. Tyrol is questioning himself. Tori tells Tyrol that he was made perfect and that he can just shut off the guilt. Tigh tries to reassure him that it’s normal to feel guilt nad that wil never go away. Tigh tells him to get it together, but don’t risk the rest of them.

 Tori pays Baltar a visit in the “chamber of love” (I don’t know what else to call it). She plucks his hair and then gropes him telling him that you can’t tell difference between pleasure and pain. But their little love fest is broken up a raid on the chamber where a bunch of the people are beaten up for their beliefs. Tori protects Gaius from the raiders.

On the hanger deck, Chief makes a criticial mistake (intentional or just a mistake—he doesn’t know) that causes Racetrack to make a crash landing with her raptor on the landing deck.

This episode jumps around a bit. We pick up again with Balter and his groups. He discovers that the Sons of Aries (a faction of some sort) committed the crime. Head six shows up and tells him that “Old gods die hard even among your people.”

I’m getting a strange sense of deju vu. It seems like I’ve seen this whole get rid of the old to make way for the new. (Though, I’m pretty certain that a certain warrior princess… oh wait… never mind… yeah… Xena did this whole get rid of the old to make way for the new in the show’s fifth season!)

 On the hanger deck, Chief realizes  his mistake and wants someone to tell  him that he frakked up. But no one can because they think he’s just not “together” because of Callie’s death. He calls them all cowards.

Baltar and the groupies storm in on a religious ceremony dedicated to Zeus. Big fight and he’s arrested and thrown into the brig.

Adama and Roslin talk about Baltar’s situation. Adama has people working to find out who was responsible, but not no one is talking. Adama thinks it’s best to keep Baltar locked up, Roslin doesn’t want that. Roslin doesn’t want him kicked off.

Back to Tigh and Six. Tigh wants to know what it’s like to kill billions of people. Six tells him she can’t turn it off. It’s not like that all—they feel. They’ve learned to feel. Cylons are “human” they have veins and all that. (Btw, a spoiler—the BSG spin-off Caprica is going to go really in-depth on the Cylons so much so it proves a theory of mine correct if the early reports are accurate.)

Roslin pays Baltar a visit. She tells him that she is dying that if he lies a quiet life, she’ll die a quiet death and all is well. He is free to go.

At Joe’s Bar, Chief and Adama talk. Chief’s “conscience” is Adama. Chief starts tearing down Callie piece by piece. Adama’s not having any of it. He busts Chief down to specialist and kicked him off the hanger deck.

On board Colonial One, Roslin wants to implement a crowd control measure to limit the right of public ceremony. Lee won’t stand for it and nor will the other delegates from the colonies. They are all challenging Rolsin. Roslin reminds them of what Baltar did on New Caprica (he wasn’t at fault entirely as we know from last years two-part season finale).

Tigh pays another visit to Six. She tells him she can tell him how to turn off the pain.

Baltar and some of the groupies return home to learn that Rolsin’s order is in force. The marines refuse to let Baltar and the others in. The beat him up.

Tigh gets  his own ass-kicking by Six.

Lee stops Baltar’s beating because the Quorum recinded the president’s order.

Six realizes that Tigh is a cylon (or at least I think she does).

Baltar prays with the groupies and tells them they are all perfect. Tori is definitely happy.

The search for Earth produces tension aboard the Demetrius for Kara and her crew mates.

While visiting Six, Tigh keeps seeing his dead wife; plus, the Chief goes ballistic, and Tory embraces his dark side.

With Kara Thrace commanding a skeleton crew aboard the Demetrius on a lonely search for Earth, political intrigue and marital discord aboard the Galactica are paralleled by deep rifts in the Cylons’ solidarity.

Episode Recap:

In the third episode, Chief, Tigh and Tori struggle with keeping their identities hidden. Meanwhile, Callie (Chief’s wife) is having emotional issues and is unable to sleep. She begins to fear that Chief’s lack of intimacy and frequent leavings during the middle mean only one thing, he’s having an affair.

Lee takes his position as the representative for Caprica in the Quorum of Twelve. Taking advice from Zarek, Lee confronts Roslin about her directive to find the collaborators and put them on trial (season three episode “Collaborators”).

Aboard the Demetrius, Starbuck is still trying to find her way back to Earth. With her are: Seelix, Anders, Geta, Sharon, Helo, Anders, Hotdog and some other pilot. Not everyone is happy with Starbuck’s command. There’s possible trouble brewing amongst the crew. Anders and Starbuck have rough sex.

Back on Galactica, Callie continues her downward sprial into emtional mayhem. She finds a note, telling Chief to meet at a new place. She follows Chief… and what she finds… horrifies her. She hits Chief with a wrench in their quarters before heading to the airlock to commit suicide with little Nicky in her arms. Tori stops her.

But in the end, Tori ends up sending Callie out the airlock.
