Logline:
Unlikely alliances are forged after the search for Earth takes an unexpected turn.
Episode Recap:
Laura Roslin is dying. We all know that. She in the ship’s hospital, she befriends another woman, Emily Kowalski (Nana Visitor). Roslin is not exactly thrilled that her new friend is listening to one of Baltar’s sermons. Emily confesses that she didn’t like Baltar before, but adds that there is something about his sermons that calms her. Emily isn’t like people who just seemingly fall for someone’s unique ranting. Instead, the audience sees that she is someone who is smart and has found something to hold onto, despite her impending fate.
This allows Roslin to open to Emily about her own fears about dying. Emily does die toward the end of the episode.
The mutiny aboard the Demetrius is in full motion. But the crews attempt to lock Kara up ends with Anders shooting Gaeta in the leg. This wakes everyone up and Kara gives first-aid to Gaeta. She also strikes a deal with Helo.
There is only 15 hours before they have to rejoin the fleet. She asks Helo for that much time to go to the Cylon baseship. Anders, Sharon, Jean Baroley (Alisen Down), Kara and Leoben head to the basestar. If they’re not back in the 15 hours, Helo is to regroup with the rest of the fleet.
The group wakes up aboard the cylon basestar. Sharon meets her sisters and Anders is trying to hide is attraction to his kin.
The cylon rebel leader (SPOILER: I have a sneaking suspicion Natalie is going to turn up in the spin-off in some other fashion), Natalie reluctantly accepts the terms of the human-cylon alliance. Kara visits the cylon hybrid, while the others use the raptor’s FTL drive to help the basestar make the jump.
But the crew loses another member. Baroley is killed by one of the sixes. Baroley, a member of the resistance, killed one of the sixes while on New Caprcia. This “Six” couldn’t let it die. This gives us a futher look into the cylons—more and more, the cylons appear to have different morals and values from their other own copies. They are unique in most aspects. Interesting. Natalie ends up killing that Six.
Kara visits the hybrid, who continues to utter nonsense. But she leaves Kara with this final parting thought—”you are the harbinger of death.”
They regroup with the Demetrius before jumping to regroup with the rest of the fleet.
Back aboard Galactica—Roslin is having a slight change of heart about Baltar. She thinks there maybe some truth in his words, but Adama isn’t quite sure. Adama wonders if he’ll see those he sent on the Demetrius with Kara, he wonders about his son and about Kara’s sudden return from death.
Adama tells Roslin that she helped him believe in Earth.
