Logline:
The search for Earth produces tension aboard the Demetrius for Kara and her crew mates.
Episode Recap:
Things start to get dicey aboard the Demetrius. Now in their 58th day and just a few days before having to regroup with the rest of the fleet, Kara stoes herself away in her quarters, painting visisions of the planets she saw.
Helo, who’s been there with Kara, every step of the way does his best to keep the chain of command going, but it’s becoming clear he can’t hold out for much longer. Everyone is starting to have doubts.
Kare goes out to fly a patrol with Hot Dog. She finds a damaged a cylon heavy raider with who else… a Leoben. She brings him aboard. Not a lot of people are having about having a toaster aboard their ship. The situation becomes tense when Kara orders that he be placed in her quarters. Eventually, Anders breaks up their little party. Much to the disappoint of Kara.
Ander visits Leoben in the storage room. Leoben informs Anders that the Cylons are in a civil war. Anders couldn’t be happier. Leoben drops a big one–in order to save his side, he offers an alliance between the indangerd cylons and the human race.
Kara accepts. She’ll use their ships FTL and navigational systems to help the cylons escape. She’ll also meet with the hybrid, hoping she can shed some light on her destiny.
Galactica loses yet another minor character—Sgt Mathias (Eileen Pedde) who is stationed on the Demetrius. She is doing an EVA, checking the raider when it unexpectedly explodes. This act further divides the line between Kara’s obsession and the crew. Now, the only allies Kara seemingly has is Anders and Leoben.
Aboard the Galactica, Chief is still struggling with Callie’s death and the fact that he is a cylon. He is drawn to Baltar’s sermons. Balter is also being the ever opportunistic individual we’ve come to known over the seasons, realizes the impact a well-repsected deckhand could have on his little cult. Balter reaches out to him, but Chief rejects him.
Still distraught, Chief contemplates suicide. Balter returns later and offers an apology. This leads to a turning point for both men.
Back aboard the Demetrius, Leoben assures Kare that Mathia’s death was accident. He does his Leoben thing, reassures her of her special destiny and that she is perhaps, an Angel of God.
Kara is determined to find Earth for her people. She strust Leoben again and they set out for the Cylon baseship. But the rest of the crew is not going for it again. They think it’s all trap. Helo crumbles. Sharon is convinced it is a trap.
Mutiny is inevitable.
